Fathers Day in Durban

Fathers Day is the day we celebrate and honour fathers. This year Fathers Day falls on Sunday, June 17. We had a look at a few of the events planned in and around Durban to give you some ideas of how you can surprise your dad this year.

The Umgeni Steam Railway will be Dining in the Diner from 12pm. Enjoy lunch with dad and a day viewing train locomotives from the steam era, where the oldest running loco in South Africa is housed. Call for bookings on 083 226 1024.

Head down to Adventure golf at the Pavilion (and let dad win). With a choice of 3 courses, each with 9 holes, this is the world’s largest indoor Adventure golf arena. Tickets are R55 for adults, R49 for those under 16 and R39 for kids under 7. Call 031 265 1570.

If dad enjoys theatre, Abbamaniacs is showing at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre on Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are R129. Neo Burlesque will be performed at Izulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino also at 3pm. Tickets are R120. Bookings through Computicket.

The Durban Surf Carnival takes place, consisting of a Stand Up Paddleboarding event, a Waveski contest as well as a Longboard surfing championships so why not head down to the beach for the day? Call 083 560 1185 for more information.
