Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers and mother figures worldwide. This year Mothers Day falls on Sunday 13 May. We take a look at what’s happening in Durban. 

Johnny Clegg and Cape Town based band, Hot Water will be making waves at Durban Botanical Gardens. Gates open at 2.30pm. Tickets are R130 and R50 for children. Bring your friends and family and slip blissfully into another week listening to music on the Durban Botanical Gardens lawns with a bottle of wine and a delicious picnic. Moonshadows, The Barnyard Theatre Productions’ newest show runs until June 24 at The Barnyard Theatre, Gateway. Expect whimsical folk music gently fused with soulful country and beautiful acoustic rock to create a seamless celebration of three genres of music. Tickets are R135 from Wednesday to Saturday, with discounted specials of R100 every Tuesday night and Sunday matinee show. Kevin Perkins, aka Michael Naicker, is back for some side-splitting comedy at the Elizabeth Sneddon at 6pm. Tickets are R120 through Computicket.

Greensleeves Medieval Kingdom hosts a Mother’s Day lunch. The day starts with a morning market from 10am to 2pm. And lunch and entertainment from 12pm to 3pm. Booking essential. Call 031 765 9400.
