Break Thru Dance Company, Durban based fusion dance ensemble present their new production, Neo Burlesque, a spectacular extravaganza of cabaret and dance from the 14th to 17th of June 2012.
The show which will be staged at the Izulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino, fuses the Hip Hop dance style, Contemporary and Burlesque, with live vocals and inspiring performances. “Neo Burlesque touches on the conflicts of ones passion and love for the same dream, competition for the spotlight and the rollercoaster ride of love, life and careers.”
Based on traditional Burlesque art, Neo Burlesque encompasses a wider range of performance and style. Conceptualized by Taryn Makaab, the director and founder of BTDC, in collaboration with her creative team, along with a strong cast of 20 Company Members and 8 Graduate members, another spectacular and entertaining showpiece is presented to Durban theatre.
Show times are 8pm on the 14th, 15th and 16th of June with a 3pm matinee on Sunday the 17th of June. Tickets are R120 per person and available online through Computicket or by calling them at 083 915 8000.
