iBruino – One Man Comedy Show

Local comedienne, Carvin H Goldstone, will debut his new one man comedy show – iBruino at the Playhouse Opera Theatre on 13 October 2012. Goldstone has made a name for himself with his undoubtedly accurate take on Durbanites and telling stories about his experiences as a Durban “bruino”. His clean no swearing style of comedy explores family dynamics, interracial relationships and the country as whole.   This is not just stereotypical comedy. Goldstone’s approach is both informed an intelligent, thus the title iBruino. In No Swearing, Goldstone introduced several family characters, in iBruino he expands on some of these family characters and introduce a few new family members and characters to

Here is something for the family! An entertaining new school play and fun way to kick off the school holidays! Chelsea Preparatory School presents Tripswitch, a delightfully funny South African play, written by a local Drama teacher Jean van Elden of Eden College. Juggling French – Speaking Zebras

Comedy Evening - Durban

Need we say more?   The Durban School of Comedy is back, presenting a fantastic show with a typically silly name: Juggling French-Speaking Zebras. These doyens of Durban’s comedic debauchery will be represented by three of their best on March 1st in a show that should not be missed.   Say ‘Durban’ to a foreigner and, if they have at least heard of the place, they will most probably mention beaches, surfing, a harbour and a huge soccer stadium.  They do not realise, poor things, that under the skin of this iconic, Vasco da Gama-spotted region is a veritable feast of quality stand-up comedians.  It is not clear as to whether actual, French-speaking Zebras
