Tomorrow, one of the most remarkable and eagerly anticipated new musicals will premiere at Durban’s Umlazi Oasis Fellowship Centre. From there, it will tour to 5 other major cities throughout the country over the Easter period. With a cast of 20, a choir of 60 and a musical journey that includes everything from gospel and R ‘n' B to isicathamiya and opera, there are few shows as ambitious and spectacular as The African Passion. The African Passion is funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and presents a unique take on the story of The Passion of The Christ, but with an African, gospel-infused twist. The touring company includes performers and musicians that will collaborate with community choirs in each

This year Mothers Day falls on Sunday 13 May. We take a look at what’s happening in Durban.  Johnny Clegg and Cape Town based band, Hot Water will be making waves at Durban Botanical Gardens. Gates open at 2.30pm. Tickets are R130 and R50 for children.
