Jonathan Butler on Christmas Safari

jonaathanbutler

Athlone-born Jonathan Butler will set the stage ablaze at the Durban Christian Centre Jesus Dome on Friday 21st December for his eagerly anticipated ‘Christmas with Jonathan Butler’ concert, for one performance only. This South African native is no stranger to fame. His first single, ‘Please Stay’ released way back in 1974 at the tender age of 13, garnered him a Sarie award, our then-equivalent of a Grammy, and set the white radio tunes alight with his unique sound during apartheid. Not being one to be bound by conformity, his tunes are a unique mix, spanning diverse genres of R&B, soul, contemporary jazz and gospel. Butler moved to the United Kingdom in the early 1980s, where his music career flourished. Having
