The Blue Caterpillar Art Gallery covers two floors at the Butterflies for Africa complex in Pietermaritzburg. Established in 2001 the gallery has grown both in size and stature, exhibiting a number of popular local and international artists. Styles and subject matter range from sublime landscapes by Charmaine Eastment to Sandi Beuke’s quirky French villagers and contemporary woodcut prints by Ezequiel Mabote and Isaac Sithole.  At any one time around the works at least 50 different artists are on display offering a wide choice of paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and photography.  In 2008 the Blue Caterpillar Art Gallery hosted renowned Spanish artist Didier Lourenco for his inaugural African
